Injury Update and Late Entry Team Addition

Injury Update #1 from Iron Dog HQ

Due to injury 6 time champion Nick Olstad has been replaced on Team 7 by back up Aaron Loyer, Loyer a Rookie from Palmer, AK.  Olstad sustained an injury during a training ride.   Also due to injury Team 33 Howard Chug Farley Jr. and Kevin McDaniel Farley of Nome, AK have withdrawn from the 2024 Iron Dog Race - the two were the only team on Lynx.  The Iron Dog Board has approved “rolling” their entry to the 2026 race.

The Iron Dog Board approved late entry of Team 23 Wyatt Halek-Hooper from Atkin, MN and Adam Stafford from McGregor, MN.  

Injury Update #2 from Iron Dog HQ

Due to injury Travis Temple from Team 19 has officially withdrawn from the 2025 Iron Dog Race.  Racing in his place champion Cody Barber.  Barber, from Willow, AK took the win in the 2024 Iron Dog with partner Brett Lapham.  

The field of the 2025 Iro Dog remains at 32 teams with NOW, once again NINE champions in  the field.  

The race also features riders on Polaris, Ski-Doo, Arctic Cat.  Riders come from  across Alaska, including four checkpoints: Nome, Kotzebue, Noorvik, and Selawik.

The World’s Longest, Toughest Snowmobile Race will depart from Big Lake on Feb. 15, 2025, covering more than 2,500 miles as it traverses the Alaskan backcountry.
